IT’S A TALE ABOUT …

an insecure, people-pleasing stand-up comedienne in her late twenties whose sense of self is called into question when she learns of her parent's divorce.

Pinky, the star of the show, has no idea why she isn't getting what she wants out of life; she's so nice and accommodating: the quintessential small-town charmer! When her father leaves her mother for a younger woman, her entire life gets thrown out of balance. She returns home to take a break from her ambitious lifestyle, her toxic roommate and under-whelming boyfriend. It is here that her  tumultuous  journey to self love really begins...

It's essentially a coming-of-age story but with a 28 year old protagonist. I believe that we go through growth spurts many times through-out life, and the one that happens in the years following the dredges of being a teen is when we learn to separate ourselves from the sins of our parents. We come to see them as separate, autonomous beings, sometimes child-like, sometimes wise. But fortunately – and unfortunately – we never completely disengage from them: How can we? But it's in the seeing of them as separate is when we finally and fully leave the nest, and stand a chance of not repeating the sins of our parents…
